2006 Starksboro Little League

The
2006 majors Starksboro Boy’s team finished the season with a record
of 6 wins 8 loss’s
This was a big improvement over the past few seasons.
At the first practice we talked about goals for the season and we
all thought 1 goal would be to improve our team every time we played
together. We set goals for 6 wins and 1 playoff win and as mentioned
we were able to just achieve those goals!! At the end of the
season a sure sign that we had improved not only as a team but as
individual players 6 of our players were chosen to play on the
league all star teams at various levels. These players represented our town with
outstanding sportsmanship and were some of the key players on the
teams.
As
always the minors teams provided an environment for learning and
preparing the younger kids for future spots on the majors teams and
the teams all achieved solid goals this season from winning many
games to having a great bunch of coaches who brought each child's
skills to a new level. Great job! The 2006 minors season was a
great year. We had 2 teams this year, with Scott M starting
his coaching career here in Starksboro. The rookie coach took
control of the" Starksboro Pirates" and sailed to winning season. We
are glad to have Scott involved in the program. Steve B coached
the "Starksboro Cardinals" also to a winning season. Both teams had
to pull up some younger kids from T-Ball to fill the rosters. All
the kids had a great year and many thanks to all the parents
involved who made the minors season a great one.
The
T-Ball level saw a decline in numbers this year but fielded 2 full
teams which by the end of the season had some success with
scrimmaging and they did a great job of following rule # 1 “Have
Fun!” .
